Professional standards

My extensive training in both Shiatsu and Traditional Acupuncture and ongoing professional post-graduate courses have included substantial elements of Western anatomy, physiology and pathology in addition to in-depth tuition in Chinese and Japanese medicine.

I meet the professional standards for Acupuncturists laid down by my governing body, the British Acupuncture Council (the main body representing Acupuncturists in the UK). You can find out more about them at

British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) Professional Standards:-
• I record all relevant details of your health condition and your medical history before treatment. Occasionally, based on this information, I may refer you to your GP for further investigation;
• I use only pre-sterilised single-use needles which are subsequently safely disposed of;
• The treatment room and equipment conform to standards laid out in the British Acupuncture Council Code of Safe Practice and have also been approved by B&NES Council environmental health officers;
• I have full medical malpractice and public/product liability insurance cover;
• My treatments are carried out in accordance with exemplary professional standards developed by the British Acupuncture Council and detailed in the BAcC Codes of Safe Practice and of Professional Conduct
